If the arrest was recent
Start with the local jail
For a recent local arrest, check the arresting jurisdiction’s official jail roster or custody-notification service. Housing may be at a municipal, county, regional, or contracted facility. If no record appears, ask the arresting agency or jail how to confirm the booking; do not infer the destination from distance or a facility listing.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office public district and county criminal-record inquiry. The current page identifies County Jail and outsourced facilities. Confirm current custody and facility location with the Sheriff when records are unclear; a record match alone does not establish present incarceration.
Harris County Sheriff public records and custody inquiry
Open the Sheriff’s official inquiry and search by last name, adding first name or date of birth only as needed to distinguish people. Review the facility and custody information carefully. If there is no clear match or the arrest was recent, call the published incarcerated-person information line and confirm the actual receiving facility.
Public search controls were reached without submitting a person query. Results, individual custody status and record freshness were not tested. A missing match does not establish that a person is not in custody; recent local, tribal or federal detention may be outside this service.
Harris County incarcerated-person information assistance

Call the published contact and ask about current County custody, release, transfer or the actual receiving facility. Identify the arresting agency for a fresh arrest. The number was not called.

If nothing appears, contact the arresting agency or the responsible jail to ask how to confirm booking. A missing record does not prove release, and an agency may limit what it can disclose.
