If the arrest was recent
Start with the local jail
For a recent local arrest, check the arresting jurisdiction’s official jail roster or custody-notification service. Housing may be at a municipal, county, regional, or contracted facility. If no record appears, ask the arresting agency or jail how to confirm the booking; do not infer the destination from distance or a facility listing.
Current Hampshire Sheriff agency page identifies 413-584-5911 as its main phone and describes the agency as operating the Hampshire County Jail and House of Correction. General Sheriff custody assistance; not a verified dedicated booking hotline or public inmate search.
Hampshire County Sheriff’s Office / Jail and House of Correction main line
Call the published Sheriff’s Office main line to ask for custody status or the appropriate facility contact. For a very recent arrest still in municipal custody, contact the arresting police department. No call was made.
Agency main phone is published with jail/sheriff context; it is not identified as a dedicated booking or 24-hour inmate lookup line. Recent arrests may not yet be in county custody.
Find Massachusetts sheriff contacts
Massachusetts VINE is DOC-only. Recent county bookings require the responsible sheriff or police agency.
Choose the responsible sheriff office from the state directory. General office contacts are distinct from a confirmed booking hotline.
Search Massachusetts participating-agency custody — Massachusetts DOC-only custody/notifications; not a general county booking search.
Local source reviewed 2026-10-05. This is published phone assistance; the number was not called.
If nothing appears, contact the arresting agency or the responsible jail to ask how to confirm booking. A missing record does not prove release, and an agency may limit what it can disclose.
