If the arrest was recent
Start with the local jail
For a recent local arrest, check the arresting jurisdiction’s official jail roster or custody-notification service. Housing may be at a municipal, county, regional, or contracted facility. If no record appears, ask the arresting agency or jail how to confirm the booking; do not infer the destination from distance or a facility listing.
The current County Sheriff page publishes this general Office contact; the separately verified County Jail page identifies Sheriff-operated County detention. Ask the Sheriff for initial agency assistance and current holding, release or transfer confirmation. This is not a dedicated booking-status hotline; City agencies and actual receiving facilities remain separate.
Scott County Sheriff published general office assistance
Identify the actual arresting agency and current holding location. Ask whether the person remains in custody, was released or transferred and which agency handles follow-up. Confirm actual intake before contacting a receiving facility.
Published agency assistance; no call, individual custody, answering guarantee, exclusive arrest responsibility or automatic transfer is established. Emergencies use 911.
Search Iowa participating-agency custody — VINE name-search fields reached without signing in; participating-agency coverage must be verified

If nothing appears, contact the arresting agency or the responsible jail to ask how to confirm booking. A missing record does not prove release, and an agency may limit what it can disclose.
