If the arrest was recent
Start with the local jail
For a recent local arrest, check the arresting jurisdiction’s official jail roster or custody-notification service. Housing may be at a municipal, county, regional, or contracted facility. If no record appears, ask the arresting agency or jail how to confirm the booking; do not infer the destination from distance or a facility listing.
Official Sheriff homepage labels this number Lake County Jail Phone; jail administration hours M-F 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
Lake County Jail administration: 352-742-4000
Call the Jail phone at 352-742-4000 for custody assistance. The Sheriff non-emergency and information desk line is separately 352-343-2101. No calls made.
The Jail number is an administration contact, not labeled a booking hotline. Sheriff inmate page warns records may not be current and now uses search-by-name only, but browser observation showed no actual search controls. The Florida DOS jail directory lists 239-742-4000; this conflicts with the current Sheriff site. I use the official current Sheriff number and flag the DOS area-code discrepancy; no call made.

If nothing appears, contact the arresting agency or the responsible jail to ask how to confirm booking. A missing record does not prove release, and an agency may limit what it can disclose.
